The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School Supports Sustainability with Mattress Recycling

The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School (TJAGLCS) partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly remove and recycle 71 queen mattress sets as part of their ongoing lodging facility improvement project. This initiative reflects TJAGLCS’s commitment to sustainability, resource conservation, and responsible waste management within military education facilities.

Through LRP Recycling’s specialized process, each mattress set was dismantled for proper material recovery — keeping metal, foam, and textiles out of landfills and contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

Environmental Impact:

  • 15,482 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 71,000 gallons of water conserved

  • 426 days of household energy preserved

  • 568 tanks of gas saved

This project demonstrates the U.S. Army’s continued focus on sustainable operations and environmental responsibility across its educational and lodging facilities.
