Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel Advances Sustainability with Mattress Recycling

Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly remove and recycle 15 full box springs, 14 queen mattresses, 18 queen box springs, 20 king mattresses, and 14 king box springs as part of a property improvement initiative. This project reflects the hotel's commitment to sustainable hospitality and environmentally responsible operations.

Through LRP Recycling’s commercial recycling program, valuable materials including steel, foam, wood, and fabric were recovered and diverted from landfills. By choosing responsible recycling over disposal, Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel reduced its environmental footprint while continuing to enhance the guest experience.

Every renovation project presents an opportunity to make a positive environmental impact. By partnering with LRP Recycling, the hotel demonstrated that sustainability can be an integral part of property upgrades.

Environmental Impact:

  • 9,628 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 81,000 gallons of water conserved

  • 486 days of household energy preserved

  • 648 tanks of gas saved

Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel continues to demonstrate that responsible renovations create lasting benefits for both guests and the environment.
