Maryland College Recycles 235 Mattresses to Support Campus Sustainability

A college in Maryland partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly remove and recycle 235 Twin mattresses from its residential housing. The project supports their mission to maintain an environmentally responsible campus while preparing for the next academic year.


Environmental Impact:

  • 12,690 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 117,500 gallons of water conserved

  • 705 days of energy saved

  • 940 tanks of gas preserved


Sustainability is more than a buzzword when actions like these keep waste out of landfills and resources in circulation.
