Laurel Point Resort Strengthens Sustainability with Mattress Recycling

Laurel Point Resort partnered with LRP Recycling to complete a major recycling effort that included the removal and recycling of 63 twin mattresses and box springs, 7 full mattresses and box springs, and 35 king mattresses and box springs. This project reinforces the resort’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the hospitality industry.

By partnering with LRP Recycling, Laurel Point Resort ensured that reusable materials were properly processed and kept out of landfills — helping to protect the scenic beauty of the region while promoting a greener future for guests and the local community alike.

Environmental Impact:

  • 19,400 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 210,000 gallons of water conserved

  • 1,260 days of household energy preserved

  • 1,680 tanks of gas saved

Laurel Point Resort continues to lead by example, showing how sustainability and hospitality can work together to protect the environment.
