Homewood Suites by Hilton York Enhances Sustainability with Mattress Recycling

Homewood Suites by Hilton York partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly remove and recycle 22 queen mattress sets and 83 king mattress sets as part of a property upgrade initiative. This project reflects the hotel’s commitment to sustainable hospitality while maintaining the comfort and quality expected from the Hilton brand.


Through LRP Recycling’s commercial mattress recycling process, valuable materials such as steel, foam, and fabric were recovered and diverted from landfills. This initiative supports Hilton’s broader sustainability goals and demonstrates how operational upgrades can be completed responsibly.


Environmental Impact:

  • 22,982 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 105,000 gallons of water conserved

  • 630 days of household energy preserved

  • 840 tanks of gas saved
