Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Owensboro Waterfront Phase partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly remove and recycle 78 queen box springs and 36 king box springs as part of an ongoing property enhancement initiative. This project reflects the hotel’s commitment to sustainability while continuing to provide exceptional comfort and quality for its guests.


Through LRP Recycling’s specialized recycling process, each box spring was dismantled to recover valuable materials such as steel, wood, and fabric. By diverting these materials from landfills, the property contributed to reducing environmental impact and supporting Hilton’s broader sustainability goals.


Environmental Impact:

  • 12,708 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 57,000 gallons of water conserved

  • 342 days of household energy preserved

  • 456 tanks of gas saved
