Goodfellow Air Force Base Advances Sustainability with Mattress Recycling

Goodfellow Air Force Base partnered with LRP Recycling to complete a large-scale project involving the removal and recycling of 821 twin mattresses. This initiative reflects the base’s dedication to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The project not only improved facility readiness but also achieved measurable environmental benefits:

  • 44,334 pounds of material diverted from landfills

  • 410,500 gallons of water conserved

  • 2,463 days of household energy saved

  • 3,284 tanks of gas preserved

By working with LRP Recycling, Goodfellow Air Force Base continues to lead in sustainable practices that support both the mission and the environment.
