Rural Action Expands Environmental Impact with Mattress Recycling Initiative

Rural Action, an organization dedicated to building sustainable Appalachian communities, partnered with LRP Recycling to responsibly recycle 10 twin mattresses, 11 twin box springs, 25 full mattresses, 14 full box springs, 30 queen mattresses, 19 queen box springs, 32 king mattresses, and 29 king box springs.
This collaboration aligns perfectly with Rural Action’s mission to promote zero-waste practices, environmental education, and resource recovery across Appalachian Ohio. By choosing recycling over disposal, the organization reinforced its leadership in advancing community-driven sustainability initiatives.
Environmental Impact:
25,078 pounds of material diverted from landfills
