Element and Aloft Boston Seaport partnered with LRP Recycling to complete a large scale sustainability initiative involving the removal and recycling of 428 queen mattresses and 296 king mattresses. This significant project reflects the properties’ shared commitment to modern hospitality and environmental responsibility in the heart of Boston’s Seaport District.
Through LRP Recycling’s specialized commercial mattress recycling program, valuable materials including steel, foam, and textiles were recovered and diverted from landfills. The result is measurable environmental impact while upgrading guest accommodations.
Environmental Impact:
121,948 pounds of material diverted from landfills
724,000 gallons of water conserved
4,344 days of household energy preserved
5,792 tanks of gas saved
