The Reeds at Shelter Haven Recycling Project

The biggest issue our clients face when replacing mattresses is the disposal of the old ones. On average, it can cost around $50-$100 per mattress for removal and disposal, so when you have a large number of mattresses, it can get costly. This is where LRP Recycling comes in!

With limited capacity at landfills, the cost of recycling mattresses (and even furniture) have drastically increased over the years and some landfills don’t accept these items at all! To avoid the headache, LRP Recycling partners with schools, hotels, municipalities and the military nationwide to ensure proper disposal of mattresses and furniture so they don’t end up in landfills. Our team will handle the logistics necessary for removing the mattresses and furniture and will bring them to one of our processing centers where they will go through the recycling process.

A recent project we worked on was with The Reeds at Shelter Haven. Located in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, the hotel had a total of 23 king mattresses and 18 queen mattresses to replace and they wanted to ensure proper disposal of the old mattresses. With the help of our team, we were able to recycle 5,300 pounds of material!

When you work with LRP Recycling, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Total Recycling that you can proudly display. The certificate will include information about weights and process types used to recycle the items so you can confirm that nothing from your facility has ended up in a landfill!
